"Foundation of Entrepreneurship" Lecture 12–start-ups' Intellectual Property Protection Strategy.

The twelfth lecture of the elective class, "Foundation of Entrepreneurship" was held in erjiao 207, on May 10th 2016. We invited Zhong Jie, founding partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers' accounting firm legal services Chinese team in Beijing, and Li Xiaojuan, senior legal adviser, to teach a course on "start-ups' intellectual property protection strategy."

Ms Zhong and Ms Li went through the basics of intellectual property rights and related laws from a professional point of view. This included registered trademark and infringement issues, copyright ownership, protection, rational use, issues to be wary of surrounding micro-blogging, wechat and other platforms. They also talked about the characteristics and different types of patent, rights of ownership, circumstances under which a patent will and will not be given, compulsory licences and start-up patent issues. Through practical examples in interactive lectures, Ms Zhong Jie analyzed start-ups'  protection of intellectual property strategy.

With the help of their practical examples and interactive lectures, we had a much better understanding of intellectual property issues.
