Course Description:

In order to promote innovation and entrepreneurship education of Peking University, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) has launched the course of Foundation of Entrepreneurship and Hands-on Entrepreneurship
 
In the second semester of 2014-2015, the SIE continues to offer the optional course the Foundation of Entrepreneurship to all the undergraduates and graduates. Undergraduates can take the course through the elective system, graduates through graduate school elective system. Tel: 62768127.
 
Foundation of Entrepreneurship will integrate the educational resources from the university, industry, investments and entrepreneurial Alumni, to present the concept, basic principle, basic method and correlation theory of the entrepreneurship, by the means of a systematic introduction covering entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial team, business opportunities, entrepreneurship resources, business plan, policies and laws, new enterprise set up and management, as well as the social entrepreneurship theory and method.
 
The course systematically trains students and improve their comprehensive skills in integrating business resources, developing business plan, launching and managing the enterprise. Particularly it can develop their ability to identify business opportunities, to mitigate business risk, to initiate timely as well.
 
Through the course, the students will possess the skills of innovation, spirits of adventure, sights of discovery, self-challenging, consistency, ethical, honesty and cooperative, value creating and the social responsibility of serving the country and the people.

Faculty Bio 

Prof. Dongmin Chen
 
Dean/Prof, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,
Director, Office of Science and Technology Development Peking University
 
Prof. Chen was the head of the Quantum Device Physics Lab of the Harvard Universtiy for 15 years. He founded the Suzhou Institute of Technology, which provides seed funding and value added service to entrepreneurs from Academy as well as Silicon Valley. As an entrepreneur he founded the Miradia Inc in the Silicon Valley. 
 
Dr. Weixin Lao
Visiting professor of Department of Information Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong

Dr. Lao is the former research director of Asia-Pacific Research Center, Harvard Business School
