The Second Semester Academic Year ‘Innovative Management of New Venture’ Public Elective Course

The course is designed for all school undergraduates and graduates, especially those are interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. The course is mainly based on the latest research hot spot and classic innovation theories, cases and the teacher’s professional innovative entrepreneurship experiences. The course will form a brand new and practical methodology form the perspective of management, including value and meaning of innovation, the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship, process of innovation, practice of innovation, more importantly the course will focus on new ventures’ characteristics and explore issues about technology innovation and business model innovation. Students will experience the whole process of generation of new concept, implementation of innovation process, producing new products and marketization under the guidance of teachers.
 
The course aims to train innovative and entrepreneurial talents with core competence under the situation of globalization, networking and entrepreneurial boom in the 21 century. The course will focus on issues about innovative management and entrepreneurship, and systematically teach students core theory and knowledge about entrepreneurship through innovative teaching methods. The course has the advantage of organic links between theory and practice, combining teacher’s abundant practice experience, virtual innovation team’s practical operation, reading literature and case study, scenario simulation and keynote speech, students will form correct innovative concepts, handle full innovative management methodology and apply their knowledge to real work or new ventures, thus enhance the core competence of both the company’s and their own.
 
The students will be divided into different virtual innovation teams, simulating the development of new products and making marketing strategy through exploring market opportunities, creating and evaluating ideas and designing innovation according to what they have learned in class. The final report of this course is to write a business plan about virtual innovative products marketization.
 
The course is mainly based on new venture’s innovative characteristic and problem, including four modules in total: discovering innovation value, creating innovative value, implementing innovation value and delivering innovative value. The involved theory and knowledge include but are not limited to:innovation and innovation management theory, product life cycle theory, innovation process theory, technology innovation, business model innovation and innovative product marketization.

3. Innovation Category and Multi-Paradigm-Driven Innovation Process.
4. Formation and Paradigm of Innovative Thinking.
5. Explore and Discovery New Venture’s Innovative Value.
6. Generation and Test of Innovative Value.
7. Development and implementation of Innovative Strategy
8. New Products/Service of Technology Innovation.
9. New Products/Service of Business Model Innovation.
10. Marketing Strategy of Innovation Products in New Ventures.
11. Case Study.
12. Speech of Entrepreneur or Entrepreneurial and Innovative Expert.
