The Competition of Hands-on Entrepreneurship at Peking University has Successfully Been Launched

On December 23th 2013, the Competition of Hands-on Entrepreneurship at Peking University was successfully launched in 1898 Coffee, and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship invited professors, experts and investors from both education and business sectors to judge the competition. The Peking University Alumni Office also provided strong support for the competition.

During this semester, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship set up a new elective course called “Hands-on Entrepreneurship”. This course is also an important part of the Peking University Entrepreneurship Support Program. The Competition provides an opportunity for students to communicate with each other, share their ideas on entrepreneurship, and meet with investors. The Competition also tests how effective the course has been in this semester.

In total there were 8 startup teams composed of 38 students which were selected from the first round of the competition. The projects of the 8 startup teams included biotechnology, mobile internet, fashion clothing and pets. During the semester, the mentors gave them brilliant guidance; as a result, they got their perfect startup plans. Four of them have already applied for national patents and one for an international patent. One of them has formally registered as a company.

"Robot Model" won the championship; "I-Chong pet” and the "Colorful Fish" came second; “Postcard” came third; and “Coffee”, “Second Hand”, “Education Counseling" and “Peter’s Studio” gained encouragement from committee.
