Founded in 1984, Office of Science and Technology Development (OSTD) is responsible for all activities related to technology development and entrepreneurship at Peking University. It enables interactions amongst the university and industry and other community partners in different models of collaboration, including research partnerships that investigate areas of mutual interest, commercialization of technologies, distribution and dissemination of research outputs, and the training of entrepreneurial talents. The office is directly authorized by PKU President to represent the university to enter into agreements with business entities and conduct commercial activities. Office of Science and Technology Development is awarded with honor of “National Technology Transfer Model Institution” since 2010 by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China.
School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) is founded in 2011 to support the development of entrepreneurial talents and the creation of spin-off companies. SIE extends its services and supports to a much wider range of PKU students, staff, faculty and recent alumni across global scale. SIE collaborates with its global alumni network, and international partners to assess the potential impacts of these technological and research outputs, find suitable partners, licensees, investors to implement, develop and commercialize these outputs and maximize their academic, societal, and financial impacts.
