Foundation of Entrepreneurship Lesson Five:Innovative Business Design

 
Introduction
 
Innovation, the soul and engine of a nation, is the spark behind human civilization. Throughout history humans have never ceased inventing new things, leading to constant advancement of our race.  The progress from rubbing wood together to making fire to the invention of steam ship, then to the emergence of the internet, well illustrates this statement.
 
It has been tested time and again that it is much more easier for innovative individuals to outperform others, whether it be in one’s studies or in one’s career .
 
In order to better serve society and socio-economic status-quo, and to provide the guidance necessary for college students interested in entrepreneurship, we will specially invite Prof. Haixia Zhang, the cofounder of the reputable competition iCAN, to provide us with practical suggestions to transfer innovation into business practices and to make   ideas and inspirations into a viable solutions. Every single idea is born with the chance to shake the world.
 
Faculty Biography
 
Dr. Haixia Zhang is Professor at the Institute of Microelectronics, Peking University. From 2001, she became a faculty member in IME PKU. During 2004-2006 she worked as a visiting professor in UC Davis, UC Berkeley and Case Westerm Reserve University, USA. Her research fields include, MEMS Design and Fabrication Technology; MEMS Sensors & Actuators and Nano Electromechanical System (NEMS).
 
She is a senior member of IEEE since 2010, and she is serving as the Chair of IEEE NTC Beijing Chapter, Secretary General in Chinese International NEMS Society (CINS). She is the co-founder of Chinese International NEMS Network (CINN) and International Contest of Applications for Nano-Micro technology (iCAN).
