The Vice Chancellor of Uppsala University, Dr. Anders Mallberg led a delegation to Peking University to learn about the academic and business achievements at the PKU. The Vice Chancellor at Peking University, Dr. WU Zhi Pan, Director of Office of Science and Technology Development, Dr. Dongmin Chen, Professor WANG Juan Ci from The School of City and Environment greeted the European delegation, and exchanged ideas on student exchange programs and academic collaboration.
Dr. WU Zhi Pan expressed his most sincere welcome to the delegation, and reviewed the long and standing friendship between the two universities. Dr. Mallberg thanked Peking University for its continuous support in building the great working relationships between the two institutions, and wishes to further develop the precious bond.
The two sides also exchanged potential collaborations on innovation and technology commercialization. Dr. Chen brief the delegates from Uppsala University on some of the major milestones achieved at the Office of Science and Technology Development. Dr. Chen thinks the role that university students plays in transforming the economy is very important, and the students could be take on a more proactive positions in the facilitating the scientific innovation.
In the afternoon, the Uppsala University Innovation Office signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Office of Science and Technology Development in the intent to collaborate on international technology transfer initiatives.
