NTC Zhongguancun Science and Technology Forum Was Successfully Held in Peking University

On April 20th 2013, the NTC Zhongguancun Science and Technology Forum were successfully held at Peking University. The theme of the forum was "Science, Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship to Promote Sustained Economic Growth". It was an important part of the collaboration between the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Peking University and Nanyang Technological Innovation Center at Nanyang Technological University. The forum was organized by the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Nanyang Technological Innovation Center and the China Association for Science and Technology. The guests invited to attend the forum were: Xu Guanhua, former Minister of Science and Technology, Council for China Association for Science and Technology; Yin Jixin, Singapore MPs, Board of Nanyang Technological University; Lin Quanbao, Chairman of the Singapore Science and Technology Bureau, Board of Nanyang Technological University; Xu Guanlin, Honorary President and Professor of Nanyang Technological University; Liu Wei, Vice-Chancellor of Peking University; Dongmin Chen, Dean of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Peking University; Tang Fangfang, National School of Development at Peking University. 

The forum held two Seminars - "Innovation Driven Technology Start-ups" and "Opportunities and Challenges of Development Technology Industry." Professor Xu Guanlin from Nanyang Technological University and Professor Dongmin Chen from Peking University delivered keynote speeches. Their opinions indicated that innovation, entrepreneurship and talent were the core issues in the current national innovation system. Other guests also delivered speeches on relevant issues.

During
the Forum, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Peking University, Nanyang Technological University’s Nanyang Technological Innovation Center and the China Association for Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding, aiming at strengthening the exchange of new innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of education, research and cooperation, enhancing  public awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship in the national economy, and encouraging more innovative and entrepreneurial activities between the two parties. 

The forum has been widely reported in international news sources and showed live on People.com. Xinhua net and Singapore news also delivered special reports about the event.
